Terms of Service

• Club Compass is free while we are onboarding our first clubs. If that changes, we will tell you before you are charged anything.
• Your club's data is yours. Ask and we will export it or delete it.
• We are two people and this is early software. It will have bugs. Do not use it as the only record of anything you cannot lose.

You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live, and you must be authorised by your club to act for it. Players do not get accounts — a club's staff enter player information, and parents respond through private links.

• You are responsible for the consent to hold information about the children on your roster, including any parental consent your local rules require. You decide what to enter; we do not check it.
• Keep your accounts secure, and remove staff who leave your club.
• Do not enter anything you have no right to hold, and do not use the product to harass anyone or break the law.
• Do not attempt to reach another club's data. If you find a way to, tell us — the disclosure process is in SECURITY.md in our source repository.

• Run the service with reasonable care, and keep clubs separated from one another.
• Tell you if we learn of a breach affecting your data, promptly and in plain terms.
• Give you your data back, in a machine-readable form, if you ask.
• Give you notice before we start charging, or before we shut the service down.

We do not offer a service-level agreement, guaranteed uptime, or guaranteed support response times, and we are not going to write one down that we cannot keep. The service is provided as it is. We run on the free tiers of our hosting providers, which have their own limits.

Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose. We take backups; we do not guarantee them.

Free today, for every club, with no card on file and no trial clock. When we introduce paid plans we will give existing clubs advance notice and a choice — nobody gets charged by surprise, and nobody loses access to data they already entered because they decided not to pay.

You can stop at any time and ask us to delete your club — deletion removes its teams, players and everything recorded under them, and it is not reversible.

We may suspend an account that is being used to break the law or to attack the service. Otherwise, if we ever need to close the service, we will give notice and time to export.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability is limited to what you have paid us — which today is nothing. That is the honest trade for a free product from a two-person team, and it is a reason to keep your own records of anything that matters.

If we change these terms materially, we will date the change on this page and tell clubs that have signed up. Continuing to use the product after that means accepting the new terms.
